Recap of #AMASeries24: Crypto Olala X Arianee

On February 8th 2021, Arianee team and Crypto OLALA group organize an AMA to make the community members know more about Arianee. Here is recap of it:

Segment 1: Introduce and Question Warm-up:

1️⃣Question 1: Can you introduce yourself and a little bit about the ARIANEE to our community?

Mr.Luc Jodet:

Of course. Arianee is the standard for product digital identity. We bring physical products in the digital realm and enable new features such as 1 click insurance, instant resale, digital closet and anonymous clienteling. You can even imagine more advanced uses cases such as virtualization (wearing your watch our pair of sneakers in Fortnite for instance) or digitaly share the virtual key of your Tesla. The founders are repeat entrepreneurs with several exits (Teads, Vestiaire Collective) and experience both in the tech industry and Luxury/fashion industry.
For myself I was in energy traceability before, sold my company and became really interested in what blockchain in genereal and Ethereum in paritcular could do and jumped into Arianee with my fellow co-founder when I came to the conclsuion that it was a good use of blockchain.

2️⃣Question 2: What is Arianee protocol? How will it be used and applied in the Blockchain economy to maximize its efficiency?

Mr.Luc Jodet:

The Arianee protocol is the decentralized solution that enables the creation of digital passports for luxury products.
It brings valuable products to the Ethereum ecosystem.

What does it enable? Well everything that I mentionned above but it also composable with other open protocol.
For instance, AAVE just announced that they will enable the use of real estate as collateral for crypto loans on its platform. With Arianee, we can imagine loans backed by a luxury watch or handbag as collateral

3️⃣Question 3: What is the Arianee economic model? What are the use cases and utility values that ARIA20 will bring to its users?

Mr.Luc Jodet:

The economic of arianee rests on brand adoption an dso far we have already announced that some major actors are on board: Breilting just started ditributing Arianee digital passsports for everyone fo their watches, Vacheron Constantin of the Richemont Group and Ba&Sh are starting this quarter. We are one of the rare projects that brings tangible utility right now to a massive market. We will be adding more and more brands over the next months and year, our growth is only at its beginning. The digital product identity is like a passport for your product. It has three core on chain features which are paid in ARIA20 by brands and other actors interacting with the product:
- Generating the identity
- Adding an event to the product. Events could be servicing your product,
- Sending a message to the product and by ricochet to the current product owner.

4️⃣Quesiton 4: Currently, what milestones have ARIANEE achieved during the past time, can you share with us?

Mr.Luc Jodet:

We started the project in 2017, raised a token presale in 2018 at the begining of the bear market (was a bit tough) then built quietly for the last 3 years.
We launched the protocol in June of 2019, Vacheron Constantin was the first major brand to register a product on the portocol then Breilting.
Since then We’ve been adding new brands constantly and launched new features including a resale feature (with Ba&Sh), an e-warrenty feature (Breilting) and very soon we’ll have an insurance solution as well.

5️⃣Question 5: Currently, with the impact of the epidemic, many blockchain projects have had to change their goals and plans according to the roadmap. So does this have any effect on your work history and the progress of your work? What will be your key goals for 2021?

Mr.Luc Jodet:

Actualy we are part of the lucky ones: the pandemic actually acellerated our business!
Luxury brands were hit in the first quarter of 2020 but in the second quarter with physical stores closing down. A lot of brands had invested heavily in their in-store experiences. When it became clear that this was going to last and store were not about to reopen, many brands saw digital as the way out of this difficult period.
We enable the creation of digital experiences around physical products so they were, and still are, really interested in using Arianee to create new online experiences for their customers who cannot come in stores

1️⃣Question 1: Can you briefly explain how the Top milestones that the Arianee team aims to execute before the end of this year or going to execute in future, will help them succeed and What Arianee may look like in 2021 and beyond ?

This year is all about industrialization. Breilting was the first brand to announce that everyone of their watches will have an arianee certificate stating january first.
We will continue to add brands starting with Vacheron Constantin and Ba&Sh but we have more that will be announced in Q2
On the tech side we are continuing to ship more efficient code and adding new feature. We are experimenting with AR and 3D features

2️⃣Question 2: What can I use ARIA20 token for in Arianee ecosystem? What are the benefits of holding it in the long run?

ARIA20 is the utility token of the Arianee Protocol. It has three core on chain features which are paid in ARIA20 by brands and other actors interacting with the product:
- Generating the identity
- Adding an event to the product. Events could be servicing your product,
- Sending a message to the product and by ricochet to the current product owner.

We focused first on the economics of the brands but we are about to introduce new tokenomics for final users this summer, it will revolve around pre-sales and VIP access to the brands and creators using the protocol.

3️⃣Question 3: What is the real goal that Arianee is pursuing? How does the community help you achieve that goal? Who are you aiming Arianee ?

Our goal is to connect the physical and digital world. There are so many products that would greatly benefit with accessing connected features. Luxury products are a prime example (and our go-to-market) but wine and spirits, cosmetics, and many more types of products coudl benefit as well.

We are actually starting to work with a spirit brand to create VIP club for their consumers.

And are in discussiowith a Cosmetics brand

4️⃣Question 4: Which market are you focusing on? How do you rate the Asia market? Do you have any plans to develop in the Asia market?

Asia is very important for us. For the luxury industry, most of the brands are in Europe but the fastest growing consumer base is in asia. So while we work mostly with european brands, most of the features we are building for consumers are geared towards asian customers.
China is of course of particular concern for us as the tech infrastructure is really specific but we are alos interested in the rest of Asia, hence why I am talking to you today!

5️⃣Question 5 : What is the biggest challenge faced by Arianee when approaching for partnerships ?

Mr.Luc Jodet:

Lead time! Convincing brands to move to our solution takes a lot of time. Luxury and fashion brands plan on a very long-time horizon (sometimes decades!). That being said, after more than three years of development, lead time for signing brands is dropping drastically, they start seeing us as an obvious choice that they will have to implement in the near future in order to stay on par with the competition. Some brands are even considering generating digital identities for their products now even though they do not plan on releasing the feature to the public

Our smart contracts were audited both by external auditors (Clément Lesage and Blockchain partners) and by several of the brands that use the protocol.

2️⃣Question 2: Are you a global project? Can anybody use your services from anywhere?

Mr.Luc Jodet:

Yes! We have gone to great lenth to ensure that the protocol and tooling is accessible in China for instance.

3️⃣Question 3: From a startup project to a mainstream project, being a pioneer in the industry, does the team anticipate that how many new startups will show up and compete?What is your strongest advantage that you think will make your team leading the market?What is your strongest advantage that you think will make your team leading the market?

4️⃣Question 4:Do the token holders have right to participate in the governance of the project? On what kind of decisions can they vote on about the project?

5️⃣Question 5 : NFT is one of the trending trends in the cryptocurrency market and they are effectively expanding with many new projects coming up in the field. How do you think about the development of NFT in the crypto space and in the real world? Is it really safe?

Mr.Luc Jodet:

NFTs are really interesting but the current use cases are limited. With Arianee we are actually using NFT for a use cases that as plenty of utility.
We are extremely bullish on NFTs and their composability with decentralized portocols and DeFi in particular!
